Overview
Valliance Bank, celebrating its 20th Anniversary in 2024, sought to refresh its dated branding in response to the evolving landscape of the internet and social media. The bank turned to Seaworthy (agency) to guide them into a new era with a modernized look and feel, aligning their brand identity with contemporary trends and customer expectations.
The Challenge
The primary challenge was gaining approval from Valliance’s leadership, who had not initially requested a rebrand. However, during the design process, we encountered several roadblocks that highlighted the limitations of the existing brand identity. As a solution, we proposed a comprehensive overhaul to reset the bank’s visual and verbal identity, ensuring that the brand would resonate more effectively with both current and prospective customers.
The Process
After a thorough review of Valliance’s existing print and digital materials, our objective became clear: simplify and modernize. We focused on delivering clear and concise messaging paired with clean, minimalist design. A significant part of the rebrand involved updating the bank’s color palette, which previously lacked variety and contrast, making it difficult to design impactful visuals. In addition to the new color scheme, we developed a series of contrasting patterns to enhance the bank’s visual identity, providing the versatility needed for consistent monthly deliverables.
The Result
To our delight, the Valliance Bank team responded with an enthusiastic "YES" to our rebrand proposal, even though it was not initially part of their plan. After a few minor adjustments to the verbal identity and the suggested patterns, we quickly moved forward with the new colors and logos. The Marketing Team at Valliance requested the approved logo lockups and colors immediately, eager to begin implementation. This rebrand was a significant win, marking a fresh start as Valliance Bank celebrated 20 successful years in business—Here's to the next 20!
